Workers posted to Finland

Posted worker means a worker

  • who normally works in a country other than Finland
  • whom an employer undertaking established in another country posts to work in Finland for a limited period within the framework of the transnational provision of services.

Workers posted to Finland are covered by the Posted Workers Act (1999/1146).

The implementation of the act is the responsibility of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Health, when necessary, in cooperation with the Ministry of Employment and the Economy. The Ministry of Social Affairs and Health is in charge of occupational safety and health and its enforcement. Ministry of Employment and the Economy is responsible for the legislation governing employment relationships and working time.

To ensure compliance with the act is the responsibility of occupational safety and health authorities, except for the provisions of the Equality Act (section 2(5) of the Posted Workers Act), which are enforced by the Ombudsman for Equality and the Equality Board.
